One of my favorite things is when floral design has the power to truly reflect a bride's unique style. Emily is one-of-a-kind--as you might guess from her gorgeous silvery blue wedding dress. Her fashion sense is top notch and always makes a statement. She's also a foodie, so naturally we had to put pomegranates in her bouquet. Icelandic poppies made an appearance as a nod to her solo trip to Iceland, and Tyler's boutonniere included a succulent reminiscent of his love of the American West. All of that to say, these two are the salt of the earth, and their wedding celebration was a wonderful representation of their adventurous, sweet spirits.
Oh fall, you can't come back quickly enough! I love seeing the hints of fall color in the background of this dreamy October day. Deeper colored foliage and autumnal textures paired perfectly with blush and neutral florals and those stunning seafoam bridesmaid dresses.
It's really hard to beat Cheekwood Botanical Gardens as the backdrop for a wedding, and it's even better when the bride and groom are both architects who want to highlight the natural, organic beauty of the scenery. And any bride who lets me put persimmons in her bouquet gets bonus points!
